Marilyn "Marny" Theresa Lyons

At the age 88 passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of March 3, 2025 at Oak Ridges Hospice, Port Perry, after her battle with cancer.

Predeceased by her husband Don and son David, loving mother of Mark. Daughter of the late Roy & Eileen, loving sister of Marie, Bill, Joan (Mike), Bob (deceased), Jim (Pam), Cathy & John (deceased). Her grandchildren Shauna, Alexander, Nicholas, Gregory & Robert; her great grandchildren Jayden & Matteo will miss the wonderful support she has been to all of them. Also, will be missed by daughters-in-law Rhea & Dianne. Marny has touched the hearts of her many nieces & nephews.

Long time friend Bev said in all the 70+years that they have been best friends never a harsh word was spoken. Sharon who spent many a Sunday afternoon over coffee & double chocolate muffins enjoying each other's company. A very special thanks goes out to Dianne & Sharon who have been a wonderful support to Mark, Joan and the rest of the family.

We would also like to acknowledge the doctors, nurses and the health care team and the team of nurses and volunteers at the hospice who's kind and caring ways with Marilyn as well as the family have been heartfelt.

Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME 847 King Street, West, on Thursday March 13th, 2025 from 4:00 pm. to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the People Catholic Church (570 Marion Ave) on Friday March 14th, 2025 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Oak Ridges Hospice or the Oshawa Humane Society.
