

Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Hospital, Oshawa, on March 29th, 2015 at the age of 90. Marge, a World War II veteran, was predeceased by her husband, Harry Cook, and her son Paul Cook and subsequently immigrated from England to Canada over 30 years ago, residing in Oshawa on Grenfell Street and then moving to Faith Place. Auntie Marge will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews and their families in England and Australia and by her Canadian family – sister Patricia Hircock, niece Melody Barry (Bev), niece Barbara Brown (Ray), nephew Robert Reid, nephew Dan Reid (Carol), nephew Desmond Hircock and a large number of great and great-great nieces and nephews who she treated like her grandchildren. Marge’s family appreciates the care and kindness shown by the staff at Community Nursing Home in Pickering and the Wynfield LTC Facility in Oshawa. Also, the family’s heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Lakeridge Hospital Emergency Ward during her final days. A family gathering will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Thursday, April 2nd, 2015 from 12:30 pm with a service to follow in the chapel at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations, if so desired, be made to the Humane Society of Durham Region or the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund.
