Merl was an amazing lady: a feisty-spirited lady who really liked to strike up good conversation. They were always a noble couple of such tremendous kindness. I am enrolling  her name at the Shrine of Knock in Ireland today.
I still see Leo every month when I help with the Mass.

I ´ ll never forget how you came to New York for a few months to help me take care of your first grandchild, Ryan.  Your undying energy and  hands on commitment to being a grandma was a sight to behold.   You taught us that family was everything .  May you rest in heaven knowing you did an  excellent job!! Good morning to my dear family.   Your cousin Penny Rufino here - Ismael & Elsie youngest daughter.  My heart feels your pain,  Aunty Merle was such an amazing person always happy and jolly the life of the lime.   She will always live in my heart forever.  As you should know mommy was buried last October also and it is really hard to lose someone so special to us but pray to God for the strength to go through this today.  LOVE YOU ALL - Uncle Leopold, Mary, Gregory, Noel, Peter and the rest of the family.  Jerry, Wayne and I will definitely be watching the live stream for Aunty Merle.   Uncle Leopold I send a special hug and kiss for you.  I know Aunty Merle was your everything.  I am praying for you.

Thank you Auntie Merle for the help in planning my wedding day and making it so special with the hall and singer.  Thank you for giving me my first winter coat. I  remember the wonderful parties Auntie and Uncle kept at their lovely house in Trinidad,.  Still vivid in my memory, Merle and Leo dancing and laughing all night to the music. Summers spent at Maracas beach house, memories that are precious and priceless. Condolences to Leo, Peter, Mary, Noel and Gregory  and grandchildren. May you be follow the light on your path to reunite with your loved ones. RIP Merle

I have very fond memories of Merle over the years - the parties, parang and the infectious laughter and her love of life. I will miss our trips to the Casino which was one of the highlights of her week.
Merle left a mark on all of us - her children Peter, Noel, Mary and Gregory, and all her grandkids! They are all better for it.
