Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Friday, July 5th, 2013, at the age of 78. Received into heaven by his loving wife Doreen, and family Marcella, Jim, Frank, Robert, Joe, Robbie and John. Loving father of Michael and his wife Louise, Wayne and his wife Ruth, and Ken. Loving Grandpa to Michael Christopher, Melissa (Nick), Nicole, Spencer (Aislin), Stuart (Jessica), Joshua and Michaela, and Great Grandpa to Ava. Michael will be missed by sister Gwen and brother-in-law Ed Shaughnessy, sisters-in-law Patricia Moloney and Jean Heffernan as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Michael was an avid supporter of the Oshawa Minor Hockey Association. The game of hockey was something that Michael was very passionate about. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the caring and compassionate staff at Lakeridge Health for their excellent care of Michael and his family. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Monday, July 8th from 2 – 4 and 7 - 9. A Funeral Mass will be held at ST. GERTRUDE’S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH (690 King Street East, Oshawa) on Tuesday, July 9th at 10:00 A.M. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
