Dear Narci It will soon be one year since you passed away and it still feels like yesterday. You are always in our hearts and minds. Love you always.

I worked with Narci, mostly over the telephone, I must admit I was kind of nervous to meet him for the first time.I knew of Narci's strong sense of determination. I  soon realized it was all for naught. The business meeting was set up for Oshawa Centre. There was quite the spread of breakfast items as well as a fine choice of coffee. Only the best! 
I was introducing myself to Narci when the coffee that I had poured slowly made it's way to the end of the table, ..where Narci was standing ! Narci was mid sentence when he realized that my coffee was slowly spilling down his pant leg. How embarrassing!!! I thought the meeting was doomed! 
Narci  just smiled and led the way to the meeting room  soon after assuring me that the spilt coffee was no problem. Narci led the way and set my chair up for me- How nice I thought,my chair was practically on the ice!!! It was Narci's smooth way of protecting his collegues and mine. Very clever!
Well, every 10 or 15 mins later, (with a chuckle and a slight smirk) Narci kept offering  me more coffee! All with that Narci smile.
 I say good -bye to a  very good man. Narci will be missed.
I  lost both my parents recently and I know it is sometimes difficult to find the strength to hold on. Know  that Narci will always be with you. Keep strong.

A Eulogy for a friend - "It is what it is......" 

I want to start by saying what an incredible honour it is to have had a best friend like Narci in my life for the last 33 years, through thick and thin, in good times and in bad, we were always there for each other!  And today, it is also my honour to stand before you in this house of god to give but a few privileged words about a man that was so loving, so caring, so brave.
  
There are only a handful of people that impact our lives the way Narci did and I would've wished him on all of you.  His beautiful family, Janis, Elisa, Lauren and Sammy understand what I mean.  And by the overwhelming number of people who have come to pay homage, I know that some of you have too. His family thanks you so much for your outpouring of support, love and prayers.  I know Narci would be blown away, is blown away!

Narci was successful in everything he did. Whether it was when we were in Sea Cadets together, going through university together, building the family business, digging out of a snow storm to make that cruise vacation with his family, or simply attending a Home builders function, Narci was always there with a helping hand, a funny joke - usually a nasty one, and a happy smile of friendship.  He touched the lives of all of us in so many ways.    

But by far Narci made it known to all that his biggest achievement was his family.  I'll never forget the phone call from a very shell shocked Narci and Janis with the news of having triplets! I told him "Narci its another example of you trying to be the best at whatever you do!"  And like with everything, Narci took the news in stride, and calmed everyone else with his strength and his belief that in life, it is what it is...

These words epitomized Narci right to the very end.  With the horrifying news that devastated us all, especially his family, Narci not only coped, but never complained.  Instead, Narci helped comfort us all with his famous saying - it is what it is.

When asked by his beloved mother Rita "why did this have to happen to you, you're so young?" Narci replied "there's a lot younger than me here mom".  Once again his courage and incredible strength demonstrated, only now to be surpassed by Janis, Sammy, Lauren and Elisa's.  Narci would be so proud!

In closing, Narci would've wanted me to end on a positive note, so I'd like to quickly share this short quote "Our death is not an end as we live on in our children and their children. For they are us, our bodies only fall leaves on the tree of life."

Dear Janis,

My name in Vince Nazareth and I worked for with Narci several years at R.V. Anderson Associates Limited. I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of his passing.  Please accept my sincere sympathies.  These are very difficult times - I buried my mum in 2007 and less than a year later my younger sister both from cancer.

I am sorry that I was unable to come to the funeral, I only received the notice yesterday in the evening.  I will remember Narci, you and the family at Mass on Sunday and will keep you all in our prayers.   Once again my sincere condolences on your loss.

We were definitely the lucky ones, having Narci in your corner made everything alright.  We feel so privileged to have had the chance to know Narci, his smile, his sense of humour and his commitment to his family and community. I had the privilege of knowing Narci for only a very short time and sadly only had the opportunity to spend time with him on less than a handful of occasions but what i remember so clearly about Narci is that you only needed to talk with him for a little while to see the wonderful person that he was.  He was funny and kind and had the ability to draw people to him because it felt good to be around him.  

My heart goes out to you all on this loss of such a kind, gentle and giving soul that you call husband, father, brother, son ....

His legacy is sure to be all these wonderful attributes that all of you probably have ...to keep his essence with us all for much longer than the actual short time that he was with us.

I too resently lost a brother to brain cancer. My heart goes out to the family. It is hard to know what to say at a time like this. I found that talking about it helped a lot for me .
