It is with great sadness and peace we announce the passing of Peter McNeil. He was predeceased by his parents Anthony and Christena McNeil, brother Roderick (Bebby), sister Helen Power (Duxie), wife Catherine, daughter Helen, son-in-law John Brown, and great granddaughter Molly. He is survived by his children Maureen, Judy Brown (Gord), Ron and Dan (Christine), his grandchildren Sean (Kathy), Jennifer (Dwayne), Liam (Julie), Ryan (Betty), Braeden, Matthew and Rachel, and great grandchildren Seamus, Jake, Brett, Jane-Claire, Quinn and Kate. At the time of his passing he was awaiting the birth of two more great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a litany of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His Blue Jay buddy, Lawrence will miss him dearly. Peter was born in New Waterford, Nova Scotia where he worked as a coal miner before joining the Royal Canadian Air Force to serve in WWII. After the war he moved to Toronto, where he was an employee for Massey Ferguson for 34 years. He was an active member of St. Maria Goretti Parish for over fifty years before moving to Oshawa. Hillsdale Terraces was the last place Peter called home. He was a true gentle soul whose presence is already missed.
