

Beloved husband of Pat for 54 wonderful years. Cherished father of Jennifer, Lori-Anne (Paul), and Theresa. Proud and loving Papa to Gillian and Audrey. Dear brother of Alice, Marlene, Cliff, and Anne. Predeceased by his parents, Albert and Annie.
Rick dedicated his life to education, devoting countless years to shaping and inspiring young minds. Throughout his distinguished career, he was especially passionate about advocating for children with special needs, ensuring they received the support, encouragement, and opportunities they deserved. His kindness, patience, and commitment left a lasting impact on the many students, families, and colleagues whose lives he touched. He retired in 2001, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and dedication to education.
He was a devoted Toronto Blue Jays fan who rarely missed a game, and he treasured summers at the cottage on Lake Kashagawigamog, where countless memories were made with family and friends.
He also enjoyed golfing and woodworking. Rick will be remembered for his caring nature and his love for family and friends.
Rick will be lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation will be held at the Oshawa Funeral Home, located at 847 King Street West, Oshawa, Ontario L1J 2L4 on Tuesday May 26 2026 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and again at 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
Mass service will be held at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, located at 1314 Oxford St, Oshawa, Ontario L1J 3W6 on Wednesday May 27 2026 at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers the family are kindly asking for donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
