Ruth Ellen McLean Clark

On Saturday, November 24th, 2012 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, after a brief illness. Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband Doug, her stalwart champion and protector for 61 years, and her daughter Jane. She was predeceased by her brothers Walter John “Jack” and Francis Eugene “Gene” McLean. She will be sadly missed by her niece Pat Walker (and husband Jim), nephew Tom McLean, and especially by her niece Ellen Boychyn (and husband Don), for whom she was a “second mother.”

Ruth was a cherished charter member of her “gang” of dear friends, and loved hosting and attending their gatherings, particularly any that involved dancing. She was also an active contributor to and advocate for her community. Thank you to all the caring support workers who made it possible for Doug and Ruth to stay together in the home they built and loved, and a special thanks to our angel, Angela Claus, who was and is there for all three of us in every way.

Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Monday, December 3rd, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. with a Memorial Service in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sunrise Youth Group in Whitby or to the Canadian Lung Association (http://www.lung.ca/donate-don/online-enligne/index_e.php).
