Passed away peacefully at home on December 10th, 2010 in her 78th year. Predeceased by her loving husband Ivan. Loving mother of Doug (Kathy), Sharon, Jeff (Nancy), Ron, and Brian (Paula). Adored Grandmother of 10 and Great Grandmother of 9. Survived by sisters, Lorraine, Audrey and Thelma. Predeceased by brothers, Edward, Malcolm, Norman and Lloyd. Shirley leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, Oshawa (905-721-1234), for visitation on Monday, December 13th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 P.M. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, December 14th, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted for the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Devost and the nurses of the Palliative Care Unit, for all of their care and compassion. A special thank you to daughter-in-law Kathy who lovingly cared for Shirley at home.
