Victoria Sziklasi

Passed away surrounded by her loving family at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on August 4th, 2013 at the age of 88. Predeceased by her husband Michael (2006). Loving mom of Beatrice (Peter) Northcott, Mary (Robert) Farrow, Les (Debbie) Sziklasi, Tom (Hayley) Sziklasi and the late Vicky Hess. Cherished Grandma and Mama of Stephanie (Jay), Samantha, Sandy, Rachael, Spencer, Roy, Alexandra, Jessica, Brian, Amanda, Amber (Brian), Braedon, Janine and Connor. Proud great-grandmother of Brixton and Olive. Victoria also leaves behind brother Laszlo as well as family and friends from Hungary and the Czech Republic. Victoria will be remembered for her longtime involvement with the Hungarian Cultural Club of Oshawa as well as her dedication to her Catholic faith. Vicki was a dressmaker for 35 years. She loved to travel, spend time with her family, and tend her garden as well as expressing herself artistically. Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Wednesday, August 7th from 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at HOLY CROSS ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 373 Simcoe Street South (905-723-5259) on Thursday, August 8th at 11:00 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior to Church service. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the caring and compassionate PSW family, management, staff and residents of Sunrise Seniors Apartments. Thanks also to Lakeridge Health Oshawa Cancer Unit as well as the nursing staff of 6C, Dr. Friedman, Dr. Li, and especially Dr. Lorne Stephen. Memorial donations to Lakeridge Health Foundation (Cancer Care) or Durham Hospice would be appreciated.
