Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Tuesday, June 21st, 2016 at the age of 93. Devoted son of the late Roy and Euphemia “Effie” Ratcliffe. Beloved brother of Margaret Houlding and the late Mary (Ted McLaughlin). Cherished uncle of Patricia Morgan (Les), Jamie McLaughlin (Jane), John McLaughlin (Mary Jane), Dawn Yeoman (Dave), Penny Wells (Hans) and Paul McLaughlin (Jean). Bill will also be dearly missed by many great nieces, great nephews, extended family and numerous friends. Bill will be forever remembered for his generosity, his quick wit, his love of reading and his gentle nature. Bill was a dedicated and active member of Harmony United Church for over 20 years. Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Friday, June 24th from 12:00 noon until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Oshawa Union Cemetery. Memorial donations will be gratefully accepted for the CNIB.
