Bernadine M Brewer

Bernadine M. Brewer, 91, of Ossian, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013. She was born December 16, 1921 in Allen County to the late Gust and Annetta (Dettmer) Springer. She worked as an executive secretary at PHD, retiring in 1985 after 15 years. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, a former member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and was on the Ladies Aid, and was a founding member of New Hope Lutheran Church. Surviving are her children, James (Pam) Brewer of Ossian, Susan Stump of Fremont, and Peggy (Karl) Goede of Ossian; brother, Kenneth (Eileen) Springer of Ossian; sister, Joann (Art) Voelker of Hoagland; grandchildren, Nicole (Scott) Williamson of Ossian, Jennifer (Ben) Lukins of Ossian, Nathan (Laura) Brewer of Charleston, SC, and Kelly Brewer of Ossian; and great grandchildren, Ethan Williamson, Haley Williamson, and Benji Lukins, all of Ossian. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin C. Brewer in 1998; and nine siblings, Forrest Springer, Roy Springer, Donald Springer, Raymond Springer, Frieda Fenton, Gertrude Hitzeman, Della Hilsmier, Linda Caston, and Mildred Menze. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 1819 Reservation Drive, Fort Wayne, IN 46819. Visitation will be Monday, December 9, 2013 from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill Street, Ossian, IN 46777. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church or Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ossian.
