Eloise Platt

Eloise Platt, 91, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011 at River Terrace Estates. She was born on August 27, 1920 to the late Harry and Genevieve (Peabody) Sadler. She worked as a homemaker and as a waitress at the Greyhound bus stop in Ft. Wayne. She was a former member of the Fairview Church of God and enjoyed working different puzzles from the paper. Surviving family include her children, Dan (Mary) Platt of Roanoke, Jim (Gina) Platt of Tampa, FL, Kay Mahnensmith of Ossian, Betty Wisniewski of Ft. Wayne, Jan (Rich) Caston of Turkey Lake; sister, Flossie Cockron of Ft. Wayne; grandchildren, Kent (April) Caston, Sabrina and Carissa Wisniewski; 6 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Platt, Jr.; siblings, Harley, Othenal, Georgianna, Virginia; and grandson, Jonathan Caston.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill Street, Ossian with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 4-8 pm on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to River Terrace Estates.
