

Kenneth A. Byerley, 80, passed away, Tuesday, June 24, 2014. He was born on July 20, 1933 in Allen County to the late Lester and Gertrude (Rapp) Byerley. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked and retired from Dana in 1996 as plant superintendent. He was a member at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Thiele Road and enjoyed spending his time fishing and farming. Surviving family include his daughters, Cheryl (David) Reinking and Kristin Byerley; grandchildren, Nicholas and Emilie Reinking; siblings, Wayne (Kathleen) Byerley, James (Tammy) Byerley, Joan (Dean) Doctor, Karen (Chuck) Chaffee; and brother in law, John Forehand. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his wife, Norma Jean (Springer) Byerley in 2012 and a sister, Sharon Forehand. A funeral service will be 10:30 am on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 16933 Thiele Road, Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 2-5 and 6-8 pm on Friday, June 27, 2014 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian. Burial will in the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Thiele Road or Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
