Lois Jean Henricks

LOIS JEAN HENRICKS, 89, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, at Hospice Home. Born July 26, 1925, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Loyall and Thelma (Johnson) Weist. She lived all of her life in Wells and Allen Counties. She was a 1943 graduate of Ossian High School and then attended International Business College. She worked at General Electric for 12 years before changing her career from executive secretary to stay at home mom for her daughter Julie. She was a lifelong horse lover, having spent countless happy hours riding throughout the country side as a young girl. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, and taking many trips with her daughter. She was a member of Fairview Church of God, Yoder, and had been an active member in the church's former Ladies Aid Society. She is survived by her daughter, Julie Ann. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Henricks Jr. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill St., Ossian (IN 46777), with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial in Prairie Grove Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to Visiting Nurse Hospice, Fairview Church of God, or Allen County S.P.C.A.
