He was born on September 30, 1952 in Mission Texas to Encarnacion and Maria (Bustillos) Uresti. The family travelled with the harvest until settling in Othello in 1975. Inocencio went to work for Taggares Farms. He was injured at work and became disabled at a young age.
Inocencio was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed going to the river, Soda Lake or into the potholes with his family. He always enjoyed a challenge and was upset when a fish and game officer ticketed him for snagging fish. The judge was so impressed with his success with snagging that he forgave the fine in exchange for being told how to snag fish. He was a builder and a handyman, rushing to the aid of friends and neighbors whenever needed. Inocencio was never afraid to try anything, if he didn’t know how he made it up, sometimes with less than expected results. He suggested to his neighbors that the poplar trees along their road were a nuisance and should be removed. He removed them all, giving him a lot of firewood and taking away the mess from the trees that gathered in his yard. One tree was very near the power lines so they attached it to a ford explorer to help pull it clear as it fell. The tree twisted and fell the wrong way lifting the explorer into the air until help could arrive. He was a family man who relished his time together with them, and most of all he was famous for his Barbeques. He loved to cook for people, he enjoyed the company of those that came, and wanted them all to “eat and be full”.
Inocencio was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Manuela of Othello, his sons Rolando (Abby) of Ocean Side, CA, Inocencio (Sandra) JR. of Othello and Ricardo of Yosemite N.P., his brothers, Jesus Uresti, Ricardo Uresti, and Angel Uresti, his sisters; Socorro Hernandez, Hilda Martinez, Mica Martinez, Concha Escamilla and Amparo Hernandez, grandchildren Antonio Jose, Angelica Victoria, Anthony John, Jasmine Alexis, Lucas Cristian and Inocencio Mateus.
