Albert Nassrallah passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 2nd, 2023, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Bernadette. Loving father of Flora (Nizar, husband) and Albert (Briana, partner). Cherished grandfather of Elena and Clara. Dear brother of the late Feisal Nassrallah (the late Noelle Nassrallah), and uncle of Mona (Colin), Norman (Gillian), and Hiame (Peter).
Albert retired from Global Affairs Canada after 35 years of service during which he had the opportunity to visit over 120 countries. From the savannas of Africa, to the elegant cities of Europe, one of his greatest passions was to travel the world. Albert had a thirst for adventure and continued to explore the world even later in his life; climbing Machu Picchu in his late sixties and riding a Vespa in the streets of Vietnam in his late seventies. Albert also had an appreciation for history, politics, and Christian Orthodox theology. Last but not least, Albert was a devoted father. He never missed a dance recital, soccer game, theater play, or skating competition. He believed in his children and always encouraged them to pursue their dreams.
A special thank you goes to the nurses and doctors at the Montfort Hospital who cared for him over the last few weeks and to the Heart Institute where he had been a patient for many years.
Family and friends may pay their respects at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, 2975 Riverside Drive, Ottawa, Saturday, May 6th, 2023, after 10 am.
