A true ray of sunshine, Carmen loved to laugh and make jokes. Wherever she went, she was always well dressed and elegant. She was guided throughout her life by her spiritual nature and strong belief in, and love for, Jesus. Although she had been a long-time resident of Ottawa, Carmen always had a special place in her heart for the city of Eastview, Ontario (Vanier) and its people, where she lived for many years, attended school and made many life-long friendships. Carmen loved family reunions, dancing, restaurants, occasional visits to the “casino” and most of all, shopping. She was proud of the time she spent as a social worker for Children’s Aid Society after graduating from Algonquin College. Above all, she loved her family and friends.
Carmen was the daughter of the late William and Yvette Deneault. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Andre Renaud, her daughter Natalie Renaud, and her granddaughter Chelsea Desormeaux; brother Richard Deneault; brother Jacques Deneault (Susan Bennett); brother Gerry Deneault (Joanne); sister Suzanne Sumner (Norman); and many cousins, nephews and nieces. She leaves many fond memories in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to thank Dr. Flynn, the doctors and staff at St-Vincent Hospital, as well as the doctors and staff at the Ottawa Hospital, General campus, for their wonderful care and support.
On Friday, October 27, 2023 at 9:30 AM, the family will be receiving condolences at Notre-Dame de Lourdes Parish, 435 Montreal Road, followed by a memorial mass at 10:30 AM.
In memory of Carmen, donations to the Bruyère St-Vincent Palliative Care Centre would be greatly appreciated. https://www.gifttool.com/donations/Donate?ID=2198&AID=3270
