5 years later,  I miss my older Brother  so much.
We argued for many years.. 
But as we got older we put all the nonsense behind us,

Chris, for those of you who really knew him.. you well know he was very seldom wrong,, even when he was wrong.
Actually especially when he was wrong.

Thank GOD I am nothing like him   LOL

Thinking of my brother Chris today; the childhood fun we had together; from skating on ponds in Chateauguay to travelling to Expo 67 together and seeing all the pavilions!  Another fond memory I have is when he and I did Junior Achievements together and sold our Santa Clause door decorations!!! Rest In Peace Chris and no more PTS suffering❤️

Yes I have great memories of Christo.He arrived in 5Genie a young man who was ready for all challenges.
A true Sapper who fit in the unit with ease.
One knew that he was going to be successful soldier because he loved every minute of every challenge that came his way.
5 Genie was some 400 personnel in strength and Christo was one young man who made his mark quickly and that is why to this day I remembered him because he simply stood out among his peers.

One year ago on this day.  We lost our Chris...
He was the last of his kind.  that is the truth

For those of us who had the honor of growing up with him,               we knew a side of Chris that was so much fun to be around.
At times he could take his opinion and turn it into Gospel.
And if you did not agree with him he would tell you where               to go !@

But I have never missed him as much as I do right now, because he did point out things that many did not see.  and he ability to see through BS and would tell you you are full of it...lol   
But when it came to his people Debra was always his pride and Joy.  He would say - how she put up with me I will never know.
Debra loved Chris and Chris oved DEBRA they were high school sweethearts.  Loyal to the core Debra has always been.

For Krista and her entourage she should always know how much her dad loved her and her family so so much.
He always loved to stay over and help with the kids whenever Jordan as away.  He loved Jordan like a son.
His Grand kids DOM and CAM they brought pure joy to his heart.  And getting a chance to see him that happy was so nice.

Without saying WE ALL MISS CHRIS he had a head like a mule.
But had a heart of gold  He helped me out many times in my life. 
And some know this and others think  all we did was fight and argue.  Did any of you know he was one of the keys to helping me start back up 10 years ago.  He was the last of my brothers..

I am alone now.. no more MEN left in our family..

Thank GOD I have a good friend in Debra and my sisters Helen and Marina.  I can talk to all 3 of my sisters like good friends.

I miss my brothers ,  I hate not having my consiglieres around me.

I was Christo’s RSM in 5Genie Back in 1976 .I recall when Christopher arrived in the Unit .Like the rest of us someone lost . Christo quickly fit in to the system and quickly became an effective member of the unit.He was well organized,helpful. Likeable and above all a loyal Engineer.
It is with sadness that I bid farewell to a fellow Sapper. As Christo would say
“Once A Sapper Always A Sapper “

Debra, i am so very sorry to hear about your husband's death. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for you and your family, especially during this time of physical distancing. Please know that many people are with you in spirit, supporting you in your grief.

Our sincere condolences to the family

I worked with Christo in Germany as part of Airfield Damage Repair. Christo was quick with humour and always willing and ready to teach. I recall when work was quiet, as it often was in Germany, he would let me play around with the heavy equipment and showed me some trade tricks that paid dividends in later deployments. I think the last time I saw Christo he was working for an armoured car company in NB. He was accessing an exterior bank machine and I sneaked up behind  him, put my finger in his back and said "stick em up" I admit it was probably the dumbest thing I ever did, well..actually, that's not correct. Needless to say Christo was not long in teaching me a valuable lesson. I was not sure if he was going to shoot me or strangle me. A mountain of a man, a mountain range of legacy; he will be missed. RIP brother, CHIMO.

Dear Debra, Krista, Jordan, Dominic, Cameron, Michael, Helen, & Marina,
Paul & I would like to extend our deepest sympathies to all of you, as well as all of Chris' family and friends at this very sad time. We have many happy & fond memories of Chris and the Alivisatos family from growing up in Chateauguay and especially through high school. He was a great guy with such a kind heart, ever a smile on his face, and was always good for a chuckle. Chris graduated with my brother in 1973 and my sister followed the year after & then me, so we all remember him well. I recall Chris being in the Drama Club and he received such accolades from playing the role of Jud in the production of Oklahoma! I used to see them practise their shows inside & outside the auditorium after & during school and sometimes we got to see their events. Chris was a really good actor and had such a presence.

On a lighter note I remember when  Chris and I sang  the theme song of the TV show Mr. Ed.  "A horse is a horse, a horse of course etc.: for a radio program at CFB Lahr.
  What a blow to my ego when Chris won the contest. After all I sang in the chapel choir at the time.  What a great laugh we had over that.  He was a fun person to know with a great sense of humour.  Gladly our paths crossed many times when he & Debra were visiting their daughter & family in Oromocto and at the Aiken Centre at hockey games.

Debra, my sincere condolences for the loss of your beloved husband.  I have been so grateful to work with you the last two years and to quickly learn what a warm and engaging person you are. Chris and I go way back to Elementary school (Maple and RAJobber) went to homeschool together and ended up in the Military in the same trade. Worked along side each other on various exercises and postings. "Gone but never Forgotten" CHIMO! my Sapper Brother.

Both Trudi and I were deeply saddened to hear about Chris’ passing. 
Over the several years that I have gotten to know Chris I have been a great admirer of his energy, honesty and commitment. As a fellow soldier, I loved to not only listen to his stories about his time in the service, but the pride in which he told them. I could only imagine the young sapper that he once was. 
The only thing that he took more pride in was his family, and that was evident in everything he said and did. 
I enjoyed and will miss our trips out on the water and every conversation, long or short that we had in the driveway.

It,s been many years since i sat in tony,s pub in Germany ,where many of my fellow sappers enjoyed hours of fun ,food and friends.Chris and i both served in the same Heavy equipment troop as corporals.Many days apart from our families during exercises can run down the moral ,unless of course Chris was around .He could take a good joke or he could give one as well.YOU SEE HE USED TO SLEEP ON A COT INSIDE THE BUCKET OF HIS FRONT END LOADER, he would place his ground sheet over the bucket to keep out the rain.Myself and a few of the lads hooked up a battery to his hydraulic system allowing us to lift the bucket in the air ,very slowly ,once it was off the ground we would yell STAND TO ... AND ROAR IN LAUGHTER    ,when chris hit the ground .. HE WOULD SHAKE IT OFF AND WE ALWAYS WERE WAITING FOR HIS TIME TO GET BACK AT US. He Joined the tug of war team and our unit won gold .His passing will be noted by his heavy equipment brothers in arms ,as they say :you can,t find old friends " ,god bless you Chris ,Debbie ,and the kids  ,my wife and i send prayers from the Philippines ,CHIMO BROTHER

Chris's cheeriness and sense of humour and 'zip' for such a large guy is what I will remember. 'A tank in shoes' -would be more like how Chris might proudly describe himself. 

I met Chris in Lahr Germany with the newly formed ADR squadron. He taught me how to drive the 10 ton dump trucks. Fair, patient and friendly...he was a damn good soldier. My condolences to his entire family.

To Debbie, Krista , Son-in-law Jordan, and beautiful grandsons. There are no words that I can say that would ease the pain of the loss of your beloved Chris.  He was not one to hold back his words. He spoke his mind even when he shouldn’t have, that was Chris. When all is said and done he made us laugh when we needed it. Made us mad when he felt like it, that was Chris. Underneath it all he had a heart of gold. He passed too soon and decided he will get the last laugh no one can come to my funeral. Well Chris you did it your way, you will be missed!!
