They say friends are the family we choose. Being chosen your friend was the greatest moment of my life and when you left us so unexpectedly, it was one of the worst moments of my life.  What would have been worse is never to have met you 28 years ago.  I am so very grateful to have been able to call you my bestie!! So many great memories to cherish such as our weekend getaways, sipping a glass of our favourite Pinot Grigio, lounging in my backyard on those warm summer days, BBQ’s with friends, schooling me about NASCAR and laughing so hard that we cried. Those memories and so many more will never be forgotten and have created a lasting impression on  myself and the friends and family you’ve left behind.  Your unwavering concern for everyone else around you and your ability to put a smile on other’s faces will be missed. May you be as blessed in the next life my friend, as I was in this life by knowing you. My deepest condolences to Johnny and the entire MacDonald family. Until we meet again. 

Colleen was a co-worker of mine for 30  years , but very early of knowing this lovely soul , she became a friend.  She knew more about  NASCAR than I did, she was also known by some as Mrs. Denny Hamlin  #11 FedEx Team. Many are missing you , myself included. I was lucky to have spent my childhood on Kennedy Dr. in Dominion, Cape Breton.  Colleen and her sisters and brothers were a big part of the fun I had growing up both in Dominion and in New Campbellton and were a big part of my family. We were all lucky enough to be part of such a unique "street family" as well,  who spent most days together, throughout all seasons, enjoying so many outdoor activities.  I was fortunate to also know Colleen as a young woman in Ottawa.  I will always remember her as being a very sweet and kind person, with the absolute best smile and who loved to laugh.  I am so deeply saddened by her passing and my heartfelt condolences go our to her family and those closest to her.  

I was sad to hear Colleen was taken from us much to young.  She will be greatly missed by friends, coworkers and family. I had the pleasure of working with Colleen for many years and always enjoyed her calm demeanour, sense of humour and interest in what was going on in your life other than work.  Even when you screwed up she would end the conversation with a joke or a big smile!  It was a pleasure to have known you Colleen… Rest In Peace.

Colleen was truly one of a kind. I had the pleasure of working with her for over 5 years, and, although co-workers, a beautiful friendship developed. I have known Colleen for almost 30 years. Not only was she my inspiration and mentor at work she was my friend . She always listened and gave sound advice. She laughed everyday and was always kind. She was very smart, could tell you anyone’s employee number, had everyone on speed dial and spent more time helping employees on her cell phone than on her work phone. She was a wonderful person who will be missed so much.

   You were the first BFF  I ever had ..which was the 70s and a bit beyond . We dug miles of snow tunnels and spent countless hours playing in the woods . So sad that kids will never experience childhood treasures we were blessed with, on good ol Kennedy Drive.

We will miss Colleen, her smile her laughter, her kindness and her thoughtfulness, she was a great friend to me and a perfect match and soulmate to my best bud John. We had the best times playing poker at her place, we were always invited back no matter how obnoxious we were. She was a wonderful happy person, she will be sorely missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with Colleen's family during this difficult time. She was a very spirited person who always wore a smile and spoke her mind. We had many chats over the years about everything under the sun. She mentored my daughter Morgan, trained and looked out for her these past 5 years, maybe even taught her a bad habit or two. I’ve always credited Colleen with my almost 22 year career at FedEx.   To Colleen's family and friends I'm truly sorry for such a big loss.   What a remarkable person, employee & one of the best friends one could ever have.  She would help anyone that was in need, never put herself above others.  In the 20 some years working with her I think I may have seen her upset once.   Always made the best of a day even if it wasn't a great day.  To my special friend and on behalf of ever one we love you, will always miss you & we wish more were like you.

My heart hurts. How could it not. Colleen made things so much brighter and easier at work. I have been gone from work myself for 5 years, but she really was such a pleasure to know. With heart felt sorrow to all her family and Patricia especially.
