Denise Marchand

Née le 14 février 1942 à Ottawa, en Ontario, elle était la fille de feu Léo Côté et de feu Thérèse Côté (née Grandmaître).

Elle était l’épouse bien-aimée de feu Raymond Marchand. Elle laisse dans le deuil son fils Paul (Diana Nguyen), ses petits-enfants William et Mathieu, son frère Roger (Madeleine Lavigne) et ses sœurs Claire (feu Roger Vanier) et Louise (Gilles Déry). Elle laisse aussi plusieurs belles-sœurs, beaux-frères, nièces et neveux.

La famille désire remercier sa bonne amie Ginette Lavigne et son beau-frère Guy Marchand pour leur soutien continu. Elle désire aussi remercier le personnel de l'Hôpital d'Ottawa.

Une messe commémorative sera célébrée le jeudi 2 juillet 2026 à 10h30, à la paroisse Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, située au 435, chemin Montréal, à Vanier. La famille recevra les condoléances à l’église à compter de 9h30.

En mémoire de Denise, des dons à la Société canadienne du cancer seraient grandement appréciés.

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Denise Marchand, née Côté, at The Ottawa Hospital (General Campus) at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the age of 84.

Born on February 14, 1942, in Ottawa, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Léo Côté and the late Thérèse Côté (née Grandmaître).

She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Marchand. She leaves in mourning her son, Paul (Diana Nguyen); her grandchildren, William and Mathieu; her brother, Roger (Madeleine Lavigne); and her sisters, Claire (the late Roger Vanier) and Louise (Gilles Déry). She also leaves numerous brothers and sisters in-laws, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank her good friend Ginette Lavigne and her brother in law Guy Marchand for their continuous support. They also would also like to thank the staff at the Ottawa Hospital.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Parish, located at 435 Montreal Road in Vanier. The family will receive condolences at the church beginning at 9:30 a.m.

In memory of Denise, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
