I did not know Dorothy that well - but she was a dear friend to my grandmother Annie Kirk. In the early 1990s I lived with my grandma for a few months while I found a job and apartment in Toronto. Dorothy always came by, brought groceries, stayed for a chat. I know those visits meant a lot to my grandma. May Dorothy rest in peace and maybe her and Annie will have tea together on the other side. <3

Dorothy was a kind, thoughtful and generous lady.  She was also very knowledgeable and had a good understanding of life.  She loved her family and was proud of their many accomplishments.  She was a good friend to my mother which we much appreciated.  I feel fortunate to have known her.  She was an inspiration to us all.

Aunt Katrina and family, my deepest sympathy on the passing of your mother/grandmother.  Although I cannot be with you at this difficult time you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Close friends are truly life's treasures, sometimes they know us better than we know ourselves. With gentle honesty, they are there to guide and support us. To share our laughter and our tears.  Dorothy was always this and more  to my mother,sister and me. Her part in our lives remind us we are never really alone.

this is Jack Brown writing from Dubai. I am very saddened by the news of your mom's passing. Memories of her come flooding back now; I recall Mrs. Lamont for her razor-sharp wit, sardonic sense of humour and endless patience. She welcomed me and the other boys into your Forman Ave home hundreds of times, always offering a 'cuppa' and a snack. At this time of loss, I celebrate a long life, very well lived. Her legacy endures through your families. My memories of her are treasures I will continue to carry with me.

  I had known Dorothy since Katrina and I were ten years old, and you couldn't have found a nicer person. Always warm, kind and down to earth, there was no one who's respect and good opinion, I valued more. In later years I loved to listen to Katrina's delightful stories of her Mum's various adventures. My deepest sympathy to Dorothy's children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren, for the very sad loss of this lovely lady.

I volunteered at the residence for several years.Dorothy enjoyed coming to the knitting group at the community centre with her friends and was happy to engage in discussion.She frequented the trivia program and we had lots of laughs together.Dorothy was very quick witted and happy to correct my pronunciations.Everyone in attendance enjoyed the giggles.I was happy to have known her.She loved her sugar free Werther's.I will miss my friend.

Dear Dorothy, 
My first recollection of you are going to that big house on Merton Street with the big yard, across the road from us, making tea and snacksI must have been around seven years old.  Katrina, Fiona, and I would duck under covers to keep warm often watching TV while our mother's shared a tea. All our house projects were done with the Lamonts it seemed. You were always there for our family, my father and mother. I always remember if my mother had an issue on her mind, she would say, well I will go to talk to Dorothy, and my mother would return with new resolve.  I cannot think of any major change in our lives you were not involved in and we still have a number of your items from your packing up to leave Toronto. Thank you.  You will be missed for sure by us and sincere sympathy to Fiona, Katrina, and Peter. Thank you for being in our lives, Yvon Helen Hemsol

Dear Dorothy, 

I spent many happy hours chatting with Dorothy over years, and all of these gregarious New Year's Eve events when the Scottish Gaelic element of husband Alex and friends was enjoyed by us English. Our family was lucky enough to meet you as neighbours and a treasured friend of over sixty years.
