Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her children: Jim (Karen), Cheryl (Shawn), and Heather (Bryan). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Kathleen, Michelle, Spencer, Connie, Andrew, and Hunter, and a cherished great-grandmother to Athena.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Eric Murphy, her parents John Blacklock and Nora Hampshire, as well as her brother Donald and sister Patricia.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Broadview Nursing Home and Hilltop Manor, especially Angie and Greg, for their compassionate care and support.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a Service of Remembrance in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa, ON K1V 1A6.
In memory of Dorothy, donations may be made to the Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County.
