It Is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father and grandfather Douglas Clancy on January 22, 2018. Doug is survived by his wife Carolyn, children Scott (Val) and Ann; beloved grandsons Mathew and Ryan; sister Barbara Drover; brother Donald Clancy in BC and many loved nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Clyde and Helene Clancy and his nieces Sue Imbesi and Donna Drover. Born on October 21, 1931 in Halifax Doug lived a life filled with family, sports and travel. Following his retirement from Statistics Canada after more than 25 years of service, Doug took every opportunity to enjoy his favourite past times as an avid swimmer, golfer and curler. Some of his favourite moments were playing basketball with his son and grandsons and watching them compete in their tournaments. Over their 56 years of marriage, Doug and Carolyn enjoyed many wonderful trips together to see the world. Our heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Embassy West Seniors Living and in particular the personal support workers on the 4th floor who took such wonderful care of Doug.
