Germaine Régina Knight

C’est avec une grande tristesse que nous vous annonçons le décès de notre mère Germaine Knight, survenu le 7 décembre 2025, à l’âge de 89 ans après une longue maladie. Née au lac Pemichangan, elle était la fille de feu Alfred Knight et d’Annette Rochon.

Elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants : Marthe Duval, Luc Duval, Monique Duval (Richard) et Andrée Duval; ses petits-enfants : Michel (Crystal), Alain (Isabelle), Philip et Sophie Ève (Mathieu); ainsi que ses arrière-petits-enfants : Benjamin, Maxim, Logan, James, Lainey, Makhaila et Tyrus.

Elle laisse aussi plusieurs amis, neveux, nièces, belles-sœurs et un beau-frère.

Elle a rejoint ses frères Réginald, Origène, Gaston, Robert, Damien, Yvon, sa sœur Lise et sa nièce Maxine.

Maman a commencé sa carrière au Centre national des Arts (CNA) en 1970 et était toujours habilleuse 50 ans plus tard, en 2020. Elle a dédié une grande partie de sa vie professionnelle au CNA.

Elle était membre de longue date du département des costumes de la section locale 471 (anciennement 890) de l' A.I.E.S.T. depuis 1973 ; elle a gagné le respect et l'admiration de ses collègues et des artistes avec lesquels elle travaillait, dont beaucoup la considéraient comme une bonne amie autant qu'une collègue.

Elle était souvent accueillie chaleureusement par les artistes, ce qui témoigne les excellentes relations de travail qu'elle avait nouées tout au long de sa carrière.

La famille désire remercier le personnel du Centre de soins de longue durée Montfort , ainsi que sa nièce Tammy Knight pour ses conseils et sa présence et à Hazel qui lui a tenue compagnie lorsque la famille ne pouvait y être.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Germaine Knight, aged 89, on December 7, 2025, after a long illness. She was born at Lac Pemichangan and was predeceased by her parents, Alfred Knight and Annette Rochon.

She is mourned by her children: Marthe Duval, Luc Duval, Monique Duval (Richard), and Andrée Duval, her grandchildren: Michel (Crystal), Alain (Isabelle), Philip, and Sophie Ève (Mathieu), her great-grandchildren: Benjamin, Maxim, Logan, James, Lainey, Makhaila, andTyrus.

She also leaves behind many friends, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law.

She is predeceased by her brothers Réginald, Origène, Gaston, Robert, Damien, Yvon, her sister Lise, and her niece Maxine.

Germaine began her career at the National Arts Centre (NAC) in 1970 and was still a dresser 50 years later, in 2020. She dedicated a large part of her professional life to the NAC.

Germaine was a longstanding member of the IATSE Local 471 (formerly 890) Wardrobe Department since 1973. She earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues and the artists she worked with, many of whom considered her not only a coworker but also a good friend.

Sister Knight was often greeted warmly by performers, reflecting the remarkable working relationships she cultivated throughout her career.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Montfort Long-Term Care Centre, as well as her niece Tammy Knight for her guidance and presence, as well as Hazel, who kept her company when the family could not be there.
