Gerry Schryer

June 8, 1950 – August 13, 2012

On Monday, August 13, 2012 surrounded by his family. Beloved husband and best friend for 33 years of Mary Ann (nee Merner), devoted father of Sarah and Alisa and brother of Danielle of Montreal. Predeceased by his brother Joffre “Jeff” Schryer and parents Lucien and Lucienne Schryer. Much loved brother-in-law of John and Jane Merner, Lacey and Peter Green and uncle of Justin, Victoria and Robin. The family wishes to thank the caring circle of friends who have been so supportive during Gerry’s battle with cancer. Heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Andrew Mai, Dr. Louise Coulombe and the staff at the Hospice at May Court for their compassion. In memoriam donations to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation or the Hospice at May Court would be appreciated. Visitation at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road, on Thursday, August 16 from 7-9 p.m. and Friday, August 17 from 12-2 p.m. followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 2 p.m.
