

August 22, 1924 – March 27, 2025
Helen was the youngest of four children, born to Otter Boyd and Lila Garvin. Predeceased by her husband Forest, sisters Eva (Kilrea), Edna (Harris), Sybil (Cole). Survived by her nephews, grandnieces and their children.
At the early age of sixteen, Helen started work as a clerk/secretary at the British-American Bank Note in Ottawa where she remained for almost fifty years, retiring at age sixty-five.
For the next thirty-five years she lived in Ottawa with full enjoyment of life and finally residing at Almonte Country Haven LTC.
Helen was well known for her homemade chicken pies and other baked goods, her church involvement (South Gloucester United) and to her many friends and neighbours.

Visitation will be held at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (at Albion Road) on Friday, April 4th from 10-11 a.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel at 11 a.m. Interment Johnston’s Corners Cemetery, Manotick at 12 noon.
