So sorry to hear of Jane’s passing. She and my sister Cindy were ‘roommates’ for weeks on end at the General Hospital. Even on her more difficult days Jane was a breath of fresh air. Her wit, wisdom, sarcasm and tell it like it is attitude were a perfect match to my sister’s. They  provided each other great company, sharing conversations, humour and even tears together - but always comfort - For which I will remain eternally grateful. It was especially fun bringing in pizza and sugar free treats for her.  May her beautiful spirit remain with all of you forever and may her soul rest in peace always. 

We’re having a hard time grasping that we won’t see “Grandma Jean“ again here on earth.  Our family is so blessed to have had her as our adopted grandma, neighbour, friend, and advisor.  There are so many beautiful things that we appreciate about her: her sincere love of God and people, caring way with children, sense of humour, love of prayer, hospitality, generosity, good food, just to name a few.  We already miss our dinners and “wee cups o’ tea “with her. We are praying for all of you in Jean’s family that God will comfort you with His peace and love. What an honour to say you are part of this wonderful woman’s family! May her legacy live on in you…

Jean was a wonderful, kind and sweet person. She was joyous. Over the time I worked with her at Glebe Parents Daycare we became close friends. She is also missed by our other colleague Magda. She made me laugh and always brought her smile and good humour to us. Together we  had a project creating fancy doll clothes for our grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She would knit duplicate sweaters and I would sew all kinds of corresponding costumes. We spent many happy hours doing this and probably got more joy from it than the kids did in the end. We laughed everyday. I want to send my condolences to her family....knowing how much I miss her...I really feel for their loss.    Madonna

To Andrew, Yvonne, Mandy and Sharon, your mum was a very special person to me. Originally from Northern Ireland (as am I), we had a special bond that few could or will understand. When I came to Canada 10 years ago, I first met your dad when he came to visit me while I worked in Futureshop. He joked that he was going to see his "wee Irish girlfriend" until I met the lovely Jean. They opened their home to me and took me under their wings, developing a bond and friendships that have made a mark on me that will last a lifetime. They were like family away from family. A cup of coffee was never a short visit; several hours of chat could go by and it felt like 5 mins! I will forever miss Jean's (and Andy's) wonderful company; her exuberant strength of character, laughter, mentorship, unbounding kindness, warmth and most of all her sense of humour. I feel so blessed  and my life has been forever touched from knowing her. Not a day will pass that I won't miss her but may God take her in his arms and take care of her.

Your Mom and Dad/kids lived next door to my family and I on Pansy Ave. in Ottawa.
I recall my Mom and Dad would sit on the porch chatting with your parents during the warm Summer nights. Your Mom and Dad had infectious laughs and big smiles and very generous hearts.
Your Mom was very protective of her children and loved you each deeply.

To Yvonne, Andrew, Mandy and Sharon, We are thinking of you. I’m so lucky to have been at Jeannie’s (and Buddy’s) house for daycare and then to be able to keep her in my life. I’ll miss her but also have the very best memories of  all the love and caring she gave me, Mary and Alex continuing on to my son Jack at the cottage. 

I am so sorry to hear of Jean’s passing. I caught up with her a little while ago when we chatted over tea and our shared love for stamping and creating card crafts. I had forgotten what a wonderful person she was and felt truly blessed to spend some time getting to know her again and to hear about her lovely family. 
My sincere condolences to her children and grandchildren on her passing. She was such a lovely woman, full of love, full of God’s love for her and everyone around her. Good bless Jean. I am truly thankful that I got to reconnect with this lovely woman before she passed.

I have only known Jean two years through our bible study lead by Jill Davies, but I will never forget her kindness and welcoming heart to me as a new member to the group.  I loved her sense of humour, and her bright eyes, always a mischievous twinkle in them. Thank you Jean for the fun and laughter, i will miss you.

Your mom always held a special place in my heart.....your house was a fun place to visit when I was a teenager, especially for lasagna night!  (I still use Jean's lasagna recipe to this day and think about her every time I pull out the recipe card!)  I know my mom thought the world of your mom too, and loved her as her spiritual daughter.   She will be missed by many here, but heaven has gained a very sweet lady. You know how much I loved your Mom and I'm so thankful that we became such good friends in recent years. She was part of our Bible Study for several years and hosted it until the pandemic hit. We then became the "Zoom Study", and she took part right up until a few weeks ago. We knew how much she loved and appreciated us all, and we felt the same. Despite her declining health,  she always expressed her trust in God's plan for her life.  I will miss her, especially the times when she would listen to my stories and we would share  a laugh.  My heart goes out to all of you. It's a comfort to know that she is at peace, has no pain,  and that we will see her again in Heaven.

She loved all children. Here she’s watching her great niece Ivy Scharf  and great nephew  James Herbert, as they dance up a storm. 

I remember eating truffle cake with her at the cottage and playing games. I will miss talking with her very much.
