Jeanne Laurin

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeanne Laurin (nee Dorval). She died peacefully at the age of 88 years old on Thursday, July 24, 2023 at the Queensway Carleton Hospital with her children by her side.

Family and friends will remember her as a caring, giving, elegant, strong and independent woman.

In addition many of the neighborhood children viewed her as a mother and grandmother figure. She loved each and everyone of them unconditionally. Her selflessness had no boundaries. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.

When she found time for herself you could find her walking with her dogs or at the casino or occasionally reading a true crime novel.

Daughter of the late Georges Dorval and the late Claire Gagnon. Beloved wife of the late Jean-Guy Laurin. Proud mother of Richard (Debbie) and Diane. Adored grandmother to Natasha, Kianna, Kaitlynn, Mitchel (Tannis) and Jason (Nikki). Cherished by her sister: Pauline (Jean-Pierre) Beauséjour. She will also be missed by her extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her sisters: Françoise (the late Roger) Larose and Lucille (John) Villeneuve and her brother: Jean-Claude Dorval (Isabelle, Irène).

The family extends its most sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff at the Queensway Carleton Hospital and at the City View Retirement home where she was shown much respect and given their loving tender care.

As per Jeanne's wishes, cremation has taken place, a Memorial Service will be held in the chapel of Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home (180 Montreal Road) on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 10 a.m. The family will receive condolences starting at 9h30 a.m. at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Lung Health Foundation or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
