It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Larry and Theresa Lyons, who left this world only six months apart. Together, they built a life rooted in love, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to their family and their farm. For over 40 years, they dedicatedly ran T&L Farms, pouring their hearts into the land they tended and the animals they cared for. Farming was more than a livelihood it was a labor of love and a great source of personal pride for them both.
Beyond the fields and barns, Larry and Theresa found joy in their family, their sons, Derek and Keyvan (Kaytlin) and their grandchildren, Everton and Miller. Theresa’s siblings – Diane, Mary, Leonard, Lorne & Della. Along with all their beloved nieces and nephews, with a special and heartfelt thank you to Judy for her endless care and compassion shown to Larry and Theresa during this past year.
For many years, Larry worked with RB Somerville, dedicating himself to his trade with skill and integrity. A proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers for over 50 years, he valued the camaraderie and craftsmanship that came with his profession.
Whether at home, workplace or at her beloved cottage, Theresa created warm, lasting memories filled with laughter and love. Her gentle spirit, unwavering support, and boundless generosity touched all who knew her. Theresa spent countless hours over the years driving her boys to their many hockey games and tournaments, ensuring they were both afforded childhoods full of realized dreams and endless fond memories.
Their love for each other was evident in everything they did, from early mornings on the farm to evenings spent on the lake at the cottage. They built not just a home, but a legacy of resilience, devotion, and deep-rooted values that will live on in the hearts of those they leave behind.
Though their absence is immeasurable, their love and dedication will forever be a guiding light for their family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know them.
We offer this Irish Blessing in their loving memory.
“Those we love don’t go away,
They walk beside us every day.
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed, and very dear.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal,
Love leaves a memory no one can steal.
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sunshine warm upon your face,
And the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.”
Friends and family are invited to join us in gathering at the Carp Agricultural Hall, 3790 Carp Road on June 22nd 2025, between 1-4pm to celebrate their lives.
As Momma T would say “Be Happy”.
Donations to The Ottawa Hospital-Civic Campus Neurosciences Clinic would be appreciated in memory of them both.
