C’est avec grand regret que nous annonçons le décès de Madame Louise Hermeston. Elle nous a quittés paisiblement le 19 août 2026 à l’âge de 85 ans. Originaire de Rouyn-Noranda au Québec, elle était la fille de feu Andrew William Hermeston et de feu Alberta Lafrenière. Elle était la mère bienveillante de Patrick Roy (Sylvie) et de Jacqueline Roy (Michael).
Outre ses enfants, Louise laisse dans le deuil ses petits-enfants adorés : Isabelle, Marie-Pier, Emmanuel, Renée-Anne ainsi que son arrière-petite-fille Mélody.
Louise fut prédécédée par son frère Paul Hermeston.
La famille désire remercier l’équipe de la résidence Cité Parkway ainsi que le personnel de La Maison de l’Est pour leurs bons soins prodigués.
Une messe commémorative aura lieu à la Maison funéraire Racine, Robert & Gauthier (180 chemin Montréal, Ottawa, Ontario) mercredi le 2 septembre 2026 à 11h00.
La famille recevra les condoléances à la maison funéraire dès 10h00.
En mémoire de Louise, des dons à Hospice Care Ottawa seraient grandement appréciés.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Louise Hermeston. She left this world peacefully on August 19, 2026, at the age of 85. Born in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, she was the daughter of the late Andrew William Hermeston and of the late Alberta Lafrenière. She was the caring mother of Patrick Roy (Sylvie) and of Jacqueline Roy (Michael).
Along with her children, she leaves in mourning her beloved grandchildren: Isabelle, Marie-Pier, Emmanuel, Renée-Anne as well as her great-granddaughter Mélody.
Louise was predeceased by her brother Paul Hermeston.
The family wishes to thank the dedicated teams at Cité Parkway Retirement Home and La Maison de l’Est for all their care and support throughout these trying times.
A memorial service will be held at Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home (180 Montreal Road, Ottawa, Ontario) on Wednesday September 2, 2026, at 11:00AM.
Family and friends will be receiving condolences at the funeral home as of 10:00AM.
Memorial contributions made to Hospice Care Ottawa would be greatly appreciated.
