Mabel Pharand

Passed away peacefully on July 29th 2016 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Jean-Paul Pharand, loving mother of the late Suzanne (Luc O’Byrne); she leaves in sorrow her son Denis (Patricia); her grandchildren Christopher (Melanie), Melanie, Amanda, Elissa, Nicole-Mae; as well as her great-grandchildren Jacob, Colin, Maxime and Noemie. She also leaves behind her brother Ernie St-Louis, as well as her sisters Maureen Leduc (Eddy) and Monique Penszak, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her brothers Lew St-Louis (Jessie) and James St-Louis (Bea). She was a proud foster-grandmother to more than 150 children. The family would like to thank the amazing staff at La Promenade Residence for the great care given. Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home & Chapel (1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa). A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 10 a.m. at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home & Chapel. In Memory of Mabel, donations to the Ottawa Children’s Aid Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
