Malcolm Mac Davies

Peacefully at the Perley and Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre on September 12, 2011, Malcolm Norman Davies (Mac), in his 92nd year, beloved husband of Margaret Patricia Neilson (Pat). Dear father of Gary (Louise). Predeceased in 2002 by his son Neil. Adored grandfather of Sara (Chris Andrews), Robin (Elizabeth Waterman), Matthew (Olivia Parkes), Mark (Mélanie Lefebvre) and Jennifer (Darryl Stewart) and great grandfather of Liam, Marin, Dylan, Zoé and Jérémy. Mac was born in Liverpool, England in 1920 and immigrated to Montreal with his parents in 1923. After graduating from McGill University (BA 1940 Honours Classics), he joined the RCAF, seeing action overseas with RAF squadrons of Coastal Command. He joined Bell Canada in 1945 and served the company for 37 years, mostly in Montreal, retiring as a Vice President in 1972, when he moved to Ottawa to organize the Canadian Telecommunications Carriers Association. He was an active member of the Rotary Club in both Ottawa and Montreal, where he served a term as President. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 21st at 3 p.m. at the Church of St. John the Evangelist, Elgin and Somerset Streets, Ottawa.
