1938 - 2010

Following a courageous fight against a humbling disease (ALS), May passed away at home surrounded by her family on December 31, 2010. She will be reunited with predeceased son, Brad. She is survived by husband Bill, daughter Barbara (Bob Thomas), son Mark, grand-children Annie and Graham Thomas, sister Madeline (Hector Boily) & family member Tilly Rutledge (Bruce) and many precious nieces, nephews, grandnieces & grandnephews. Predeceased by parents Roy & Edith Bell, brother Keith (Matilda Barrows), sister Marion (Gordon Baldwin). Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road (at Albion Rd.) on Tuesday, January 4th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held in St. Elizabeth’s Church, 1303 Leaside Ave. (at Merivale Rd.) on Wednesday, January 5th at 11 a.m., followed by a reception in the parish hall. A private interment will be at St Camillus Cemetery, Farrellton, PQ on a later date. Memoriam donations may be made to the ALS Society (Ottawa Branch) or the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.
