Uncle Mike...

I’ll never forget the good times at Wildwood Campground, the good times in life throughout and the fun times at Multi-Drain. You taught me how to take off my first toilet. 😂 I was greener than grass and thought I knew it all. So you let me do it without guidance at first only for me to make a mess of it. And then you showed me how to properly do the work. It didn’t end there, you taught me so much about plumbing and service work.

If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have been a plumber in the first place. I don’t even know where I’d be. 15 years ago, you asked for my help for 3 days and I happily said yes. But I didn’t realize it was going to be the start of my career. 

You were the best! You always made everyone laugh and you could’ve sold ice to a polar bear. 😂 I want you to know that I love you a lot and I’ll miss you forever. As life goes on, I’ll still think of you every day.

I know grandpa Robert and uncle Gerry welcomed you with open arms and the 3 of you will now watch over all of us. RIP uncle Mike. You’re a damn legend!

I remember when I was 6 years old my parents took me to Marineland for the first time. It's an experience I'll never forget. Not because I got to feed a bunch of different animals, but because it was the first time I went on a rollercoaster. 

At that time and maybe still now, Marineland only had one "real rollercoaster". Of course my dad took me on it, he was happy to, he loved rollercoasters. The first time we went on it, I was afraid and closed my eyes for half the ride. My dad laughed the entire time and kept telling me to open my eyes. After the ride was over my dad asked me what I wanted to do next. I responded by saying "I want to go on the rollercoaster again!" and without hesitation he said "let's do it!". We went on that rollercoaster at least six times in a row that day and at the end we were both laughing the entire ride. 

I bring this memory up, not only because it is one of my favourites, but because I was recently reminded of it. 

The other day I took my family to a turtle farm where my daughter Zoey got to touch and feed baby sea turtles for the first time. She seemed to be enjoying herself, but I believe the highlight of her day was the water slide. The turtle farm had one water slide and because Zoey was too young we had to go down together. She was excited when we started climbing to the top, but that excitement quickly turned into fear. I could tell she was afraid as we started going down so I started laughing to let her know everything was going to be okay. 

When we got to the bottom she yelled "encore" and of course, my response to my daughter was "let's do it!". I made sure to say yes to go down that water slide at least six times in a row that day and at the end we were both laughing all the way down. 

It was in that moment, I thought about my dad and our time at Marineland. Looking back on it, he was probably laughing to let me know everything was going to be okay.

I have such great memories with you. Long chats about everything under the sun, you practically living at the building that I managed because there were THAT many plumbing problems, but most of all, our trip to Dominican together. The painting that you bought for me as a birthday present hangs on my wall (with all of its bumps and bruises from our clumsiness in travelling with it.). Godspeed my friend. I’ll remember you always. 💔

To my brother Mike. I’ll always remember playing in the dirt making roads for your hot wheels when we were kids. We would play for hours. You always managed to find most of my cars that I bought. I’m going to miss going to the reserve in Montreal. If I make it back there, I will have a hamburger and a beer for you.  Love you lots. Miss you lots.  Keep playing that guitar in heaven. I know that no matter what you will always be with me. When life separates us I’ll know it is only your soul saying goodbye to your body, But your spirit will be with me always. When i see a bird chirping on a near by branch, I will know it is you singing to me. After loosing our father & younger brother when I was young you gave me courage as a big brother by telling me how proud  you were of me for graduating high school which gave me confident and self worth to continue in life & become who I am today & to be proud of myself & my accomplishments in life for that I will always cherish❣I love & miss you 💔 love your baby sister Carole 😘💞

So very sorry for the family's loss, I've known Mike for more than 40 years he was well liked. We had just recently connected and he had a witty humour that goes way back. My deepest condolences to the family.
