

SABOURIN, M. A. Pauline, C.M. Peacefully at her residence in Ottawa on May 20, 2019, in her 91st year. Cherished sister of Louise Daniel (Windsor) and sister-in-law of Dr. Maurice Daniel and Thérèse Sabourin (Québec City). Will be greatly missed by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, including her Ottawa niece Anne Daniel (and family), and godsons Philip Daniel and Claude Sabourin. Predeceased by her parents, Rosanna Brunet and Rémi Sabourin, sisters Fleurette Andrews and Fernande Brabazon, and brothers Claude, Marcel and Robert. Pauline was a dedicated public servant for the Government of Canada for forty-one years, most of which were with the Department of External Affairs. She supported the work of Deputy Ministers, Ministers and Prime Ministers, including on missions to China, Russia, Latin America and the UN in New York. For her exceptional service, Pauline was appointed as a Member of the Order of Canada in 1975. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Church, 435 Montreal Road, Ottawa on Thursday, May 30 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Special thanks to the staff at Chartwell Rideau Place for their attentive care over Pauline’s last weeks, particularly manager Christine Turner.
