It was October 28, 2019, shortly after turning 61, that Pierre Richard Duval passed away from a long battle with two terminal cancers. He was surrounded by his family around the clock in the days leading up to his passing, and took his last breath with his brother Robert Duval (Louise (deceased)) by his side. His sisters Ghislaine Duval (Alain) and Liliane Duval (Eddy) will forever cherish the quality time spent with him in his final time with us on earth. Pierre’s Mother Rita Duval (Baron) will always have a piece of her heart missing now that he is gone, however, she is comforted knowing he is re-joining his beloved Father Richard Duval and his beautiful sister Monique Duval in paradise.
Pierre was a proud father of two girls whom he loved more than life. Lisa Fyke his oldest and Tania Fyke (Brian) his baby. Pierre was blessed with 8 wonderful grand babies Jemeal, Nicole, Jaden, Jamarkus, Jaheem, Khloe, Jamiyah and the newest addition little baby Jah-Jah. The love of his life Tammy Fyke will be tasked with keeping his memory alive to their Grandkids, sharing fond memories of their poppy for years to come.
A void will be felt amongst his nieces and nephews aswell as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Family gatherings will never be quite the same. His God daughter and P.O.A. Helena (Jason A.) will miss him beyond what words can describe as well as Monique (Elie), Dayna (Gary), Jean-Yves (Kassandra), Andre, Joey (Val), Jason S. (Amanda) and all their children.
Pierre made many friends along the way, enjoying a good party and pint was where he was happy. Tapping his feet and strumming his guitar, he was the life of the party. His passing will be felt significantly by his best friend Myles, whom no matter what, they were there for each other. But in heaven Pierre will pick up where he left off, playing a tune on the guitar with his brother in law David.
Work was always top of mind for Pierre working all the way through his illness. Known for his incredible talent on the roller and the rake. His work ethic will be the legacy that will live on through anyone that Pierre taught the trade to. From his first paving gig at 16 with Dibly paving untill he hung his hard hat down at Alvi paving at the age of 60, and the many others in between.
Lastly a very special thank you to the unmatched staff at the Diane Morrision (mission) Hospice. In Pierre’s final year of life these people became an extension to his family, from the nurses to the other patients and the hard working Dr. Douglas who made it his priority to ensure Pierre’s final time was enjoyable and comfortable as possible. Pierre was where he wanted to be at the mission, he was Home. They did their very best to give him anything he wanted while battling against limited resources they still made it all happen.
For that reason we would ask that in lieu of flowers please make donations to the Dianna Morission Hospice. These people truly made all the difference and they could do so much more with financial support.
Below is the details for the services and we are humbled by all the love we have received so far.
Pierre Richard Duval you will be missed by everyone who knew you and for the record, YOU ARE THE MAN!
