Richard Edgar Chartrand

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Richard Edgar Chartrand, on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the age of 70. He was the son of the (late) Émile Chartrand and (late) Kathleen Nicholas.

He leaves behind his loving wife : Carol Bourdeau, his children : Tracy Chartrand-Dubé (Paul Dallaire) and Carolyn Dupuis (Jeff Dupuis), as well as his grandchildren : Marissa Dubé (Riley Perkins), Chelsea Dupuis (Justin Yach) and Keenan Dubé. He also leaves to grieve his siblings : Donald (Danielle), Denis (Ginette) and Diane, and will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was predeceased by his brothers Michel (late Francine Hubert), Ronald (Christine Emond) and Roger (Claudette Beaudin).

Richard enjoyed the simple things in life like the company of friends and a good old hockey game. He never hesitated to help someone in need and appreciated people for who they were. His deepest love in life was that of animals, especially his late dog Sheba, for which the family takes comfort in knowing they have now been reunited.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Queensway Carleton Hospital for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society, an organization Richard felt strongly about.

Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 11:00 am.
