Roger Trudel

Il laisse pour pleurer sa perte son épouse Pauline Fogarty (63 ans de mariage) et ses 6 enfants : Paul (Diane Lemieux), Madeleine (Dennis Smith), Robert, Lorraine, François (Kellie Bloskie) et Julie (Richard Goulet).

Il laisse aussi ses 11 petits enfants : Alain et Sylvie Trudel; Robin, Stéphanie et Matthew Smith; Dominique et Véronique Trudel; Kyle et Luc Trudel; Éric et Nicholas Goulet. Il rejoint son arrière petite fille Taylor Monoghan Smith.

Il laisse également trois belles-sœurs Marguerite McEvoy, Monique Rochefort et Thelma Fogarty ainsi que plusieurs nièces et neveux.

Il fut prédécédé par son frère Hubert et sa sœur Claire (Doucet); ses beaux-frères John James Fogarty, Lionel Gohier, Robert Rochefort, Carl McEvoy, Léo Doucet et ses belles-sœurs Rita Gohier et Lorette Trudel.

Sa vie aura été marquée d’une carrière de 35 ans dans le domaine de l’éducation : Directeur fondateur de l’école élémentaire catholique Georges Étienne Cartier d’Ottawa; ancien président de l’Association des directeurs d’école des écoles françaises de l’Ontario; ancien président du District 27 Ottawa-Carleton des Enseignants Retraités de l’Ontario. Il était aussi très fier de sa participation au sein des Cadets de l’air du Canada – Escadrille Ottawa-Dollard.

La famille tient à remercier le personnel de Moments Manor (anciennement le Manoir St-Joseph) et le personnel de l’hôpital Montfort.

La famille recevra parents et amis à la Maison Funéraire Racine, Robert et Gauthier Beauchamp, 180 chemin Montréal, Ottawa, Ontario le vendredi 30 mai de 14h00 à 16h00 et de 19h00 à 21h00. Les funérailles auront lieu à la Basilique-cathédrale Notre-Dame d’Ottawa, 385 promenade Sussex à 10h30 le samedi 31 mai 2014.

Passed away peacefully on May 25 2014 at the age of 85 years. Predeceased by his parents Hubert Trudel and Dora Choquette.

He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Pauline Fogarty (63 years of marriage) and his 6 children : Paul (Diane Lemieux), Madeleine (Dennis Smith), Robert, Lorraine, François (Kellie Bloskie) and Julie (Richard Goulet).

He also leaves his 11 grand-children : Alain and Sylvie Trudel; Robin, Stéphanie and Matthew Smith; Dominique and Véronique Trudel; Kyle and Luc Trudel; Éric and Nicholas Goulet. He joins his great-grand-daughter Taylor Monoghan Smith.

He also leaves his three sisters-in-law Marguerite McEvoy, Monique Rochefort and Thelma Fogarty as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother Hubert and his sister Claire (Doucet); his brothers-in-law John James Fogarty, Lionel Gohier, Robert Rochefort, Carl McEvoy, Léo Doucet and his sisters-in-law Rita Gohier and Lorette Trudel.

His life was highlighted by a 35 year career in education : founding principal of the French Catholic elementary school Georges Étienne Cartier in Ottawa; past president of the Association of French School Principals of Ontario; past president of Retired Teachers of Ontario District 27 Ottawa-Carleton. He was also very proud of his participation in the Air Cadets of Canada.–.Ottawa-Dollard Squadron.

The family would like to thank the personnel at Moments Manor (previously St-Joseph Manor) and the personnel of Montfort Hospital.

The family will receive family and friends at the Racine, Robert & Gauthier Beauchamp Funeral Home, 180 Montreal Road, on Friday May 30 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral mass will take place at the Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica, 385 Sussex Drive at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday May 31 2014.
