Ronald B. Séguin

Pour Ronald, rien n’était à son épreuve. Il s’est tracé un parcours qui lui a demandé à plusieurs reprises de retourner sur les bancs de l’école. Il occupa le rôle de livreur, mécanicien, vendeur automobile. Après plusieurs années de sacrifice, de ténacité et d’études, il réalisa son rêve et devenu enseignant de mécanique automobile et menuiserie. Voyager était essentiel pour lui. C’était une façon de continuer à apprendre, se détendre, et de rencontrer de nouveaux gents. Musicien auto-apprenant, il jouait de nombreux instruments comme la guitare, le violon, la musique a bouche, et l’accordéon. Homme social avec la parole facile, il entamait des conversations avec n’importe qui, n’importe quand. Un grand farceur, Il ne manquait jamais l’occasion de jouer des tours. Ultimement il avait un grand amour pour sa famille.

Époux de 50 ans de feu Colette Fournier et fils de feu Lucien Séguin et feu Simone Bertrand, il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants, Daniel, Sylvie (Kevin Brant) et Anne (Eric Marcotte); ses petits-enfants : Zachary, Bailey, Jacob, Max, Kieran, Angelika et Tara. Il laisse également, son frère Ernest (feu Denise Lacroix), sa sœur Claudette (feu Gérald Meloche), et son frère Réjean (Marjolaine Gravelle) ainsi que de nombreux neveux, nièces, amies et amis.

Il fut prédécédé par son fils Robert (Julie Connolly) et sa sœur Nicole (feu André Laviolette).

Né à Treadwell, Ontario et il est décédé mardi le 25 août 2026 à l’âge de 88 ans.

La famille de Ronald recevra parents et amis à la maison funéraire Racine, Robert & Gauthier au 180 Chemin Montréal Road, Ottawa le lundi 31 août à midi pour une célébration de vie.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Ronald Séguin.

For Ronald, nothing was too challenging. He carved out a path for himself that required him to return to school on several occasions. He worked as a delivery driver, a mechanic, and a car salesman. After many years of sacrifice, tenacity, and study, he fulfilled his dream and became a teacher of automotive mechanics and carpentry. Traveling was essential to him; it was a way to continue learning, relax, and meet new people. A self-taught musician, he played many instruments, including the guitar, violin, harmonica, and accordion. A sociable man with a gift for conversation, he would strike up a conversation with anyone, anytime. A great prankster, he never missed an opportunity to play tricks. Above all, he had a deep love for his family.

Married for 50 years to the late Colette Fournier and son of the late Lucien Séguin and the late Simone Bertrand, he is survived by his children, Daniel, Sylvie (Kevin Brant), and Anne (Eric Marcotte); and his grandchildren: Zachary, Bailey, Jacob, Max, Kieran, Angelika, and Tara. He is also survived by his brother Ernest (the late Denise Lacroix), his sister Claudette (the late Gérald Meloche), and his brother Réjean (Marjolaine Gravelle), as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.

He was predeceased by his son Robert (Julie Connolly) and his sister Nicole (the late André Laviolette).

Ronald’s family will welcome family and friends at the Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home, located at 180 Montreal Road, Ottawa, on Monday, August 31, at noon for a celebration of life.
