Rosamunde Ellen McFarlane

Rose was welcomed into heaven by her loving husband Scotty of 60 years, on Friday September 5th, 2014 in her 92nd year, surrounded by her family. Rose was predeceased by her parents William and Maryanne, brothers Bill, Ray, John, sisters Esme, Mabel and Dorothy, and her in-laws Jed, Betty and Peter. Left to treasure Rose’s memory are her devoted daughters Sharon (late David Albota), Linda (Brian Cox), Kim (Carl Oberman) and Christina (Terry Van Kessel). Special Grannie to Maryanne (Kelvin McMillan), Katherine (Mark Long), Pamela (David Bosley), Melissa, Allison (Aric Wilson), Anthony, Maggie and Ali. Great Grannie to Tabitha, Tyler, Ethan, Brennan, Mathew, Rebecca, Kayla, Philip, Olivia, and Georgia. Lovingly remembered by her sisters-in-law Irene, Alice, and Miki, and many nieces and nephews. Rose cherished her nater night group, her bridge club of 47 years, the altar guild at St. Thomas and her career at Charles Ogilvy’s. Many hours were spent knitting and baking delicious desserts especially apple pie for her family. Rose was the perfect mother who always set a wonderful example for her children. Special thanks to Dr. Coulombe, Dr. Carol Yang and Eleanor. Friends may pay their respects at McEvoy Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, Funeral Service Monday, September 8 at 1 pm at St. Thomas the Apostle Anglican Church. In memoriam donations to the Palliative Care Outreach Program and The Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated.
