February 16, 1984 - August 22, 2025
Ross was born in Montréal in 1984 and moved to Ottawa with his family in 1987. He was the much loved son of Liz and the late Brian, brother of Scott (Mylan Ly) and nephew, cousin and friend to many.
He was always active as a child, curious and adventuresome (not always with good results). He had a busy, creative mind and aspired to be a writer. Ross wrote and self-published four books, starting when he was in his late teenage years. He completed a broadcasting-television programme with honours at Algonquin College in 2022, and although he never found regular employment in that area, he derived great enjoyment from creating videos. His working career was varied and included server/bartender, lawn-care/pest control technician (Ross really enjoyed being outside and driving a truck), and giant elf at Toy Mountain.
Who was Ross? As evidenced by the number of people he knew, those he called friends, he was someone loved by so many. More importantly, he loved unconditionally and with no expiry date, and was fiercely loyal. He loved all his family, simply because they were his family.
Ross was so much to so many in so many different ways. He was kind, intelligent, complex, gentle and funny. He touched so many lives, lives that are forever changed because of who he was. He has left us and there will be forever a huge void. Gone, but never forgotten.
