It is with great sadness that the family of Souad “Sue” Smiley announces her passing on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the age of 91. Sue was a kind and generous person who dedicated her life to her family, but also enjoyed helping the many other people she encountered throughout her life.
Survived by her brothers Sleiman (the late Odette Rizk) of Lebanon, Fouad Smiley (Beverly Kouri) and Michel (Jeanette Semaan) both of Ottawa. Pre deceased by her brothers Khalil (Georgette Abou-Rizk) of Lebanon, Adel (Afaf Tayar), Sam (Marie Abou-Arrage) both of Ottawa and her sister Nouhad (late Fouad Khoury) of Lebanon. She will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends both in Canada and Lebanon.
Her niece Rimonda would like to thank the wonderful staff at Villagia in the Glebe for taking great care of her for the last 4 years.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 10 am to 11am at St. Elias Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral 2975 Riverside Drive, Ottawa, ON. Funeral Service to follow at 11 am. Interment at Beechwood Cemetery 280 Beechwood Ave., Ottawa, ON. The funeral Service will be live streamed at https://funeraweb.tv/en/diffusions/44852. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing, face masks and capacity restrictions are in effect.
