She left her small hometown of Campbellton, NB at a young age to make her own way in Ottawa, where her fierce independence led to a 30+ year career with the Bank of Montreal. She met her late husband, Philip “Joe,” a member of the Canadian military, in Ottawa, and they were married for 42 years. Through military life in Trenton, Germany, and Ottawa, they formed lifelong friendships and later enjoyed many happy hours at their favourite local pubs. Deeply devoted to her faith and community, she served as an Ottawa Senators Ambassador and as a member of the Catholic Women’s League of Canada. She was predeceased by her husband Joe, parents Douglas and Vera, brother Stephen, and sisters Janice (Peter) and Carol. She will be lovingly remembered by her nephews Douglas Richardson (Jim) and Kirk McLardie, nieces Celena Richardson and Christie McLardie (Jeremy), and great-nieces and nephews – Carson, Carter, Brody, Naomi, Athena, and Aralyn. Yes, Aunt Sue—we promise to find a loving home for every treasured item in your house and sneak doggy treats to Teddy, Murphy, Mavis, Lilly, Cece, and Louis V.
The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers.
