Terry, as she was affectionately called, passed peacefully in Ottawa shortly after her 94th birthday. She was always the last one to leave the party. She leaves us now to finally reunite with her husband of 50 years, Captain Philip Chandler, parents Mary (Watt) and Edward Houlahan, her nine brothers and sisters (Helen, Lois, Marge, Eddie, Irene, Neil, Tony, Roy, Mary Ann) daughter Margaret, and beloved grandsons Gavin and Stephen. She will be deeply missed by her children Michael, Kathryn, and Maureen, her eight surviving grandchildren (Meaghan, Kendra, Patrick, Mallory, Rowan, Heather, Caleb and Carson), five great-grandchildren (Liam, Aoife, Lola, Leland, Gabriel), and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Born in Ottawa, Terry worked at the CIBC, and was a longstanding parishioner of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church. She spent her last five years living in community at The Hunt Club Manor - Revera. The family thanks the staff there for taking such good care of her. The family also wishes to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff in palliative care at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, who showed such gentle compassion in her final days.
