Walter Jeremiah Sullivan

It is with deep sadness that we share the peaceful passing of Walter, surrounded by his family, on Saturday August 17, 2024. He was a loving husband to Alma (nee McLaughlin) for 66 years and Dad to Barry (Jane), Colleen (Erroll), Andy (Jane), Wilf (Renata), and John (Heather).

Papa will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his grandchildren, Hanna (Jason), Zachary, Kathryn (Kevin), Abby (Jamie), Maggie, Sean, and Victoria (Ryley).

Papa met his great grandson Jackson in October 2023 and took pleasure in watching him grow and change.

Walter is survived by his sister Lila Chamberlain (the late Ronnie) and sister-in-law Florence Sullivan (the late Francis).

Walter is predeceased by his parents Andrew and Isabelle (McCambley), sisters Sabina and Mary (Jack Avery), and brothers and sisters-in-law; Victor (May), Norbert, Bernard, Vincent (Helen), Jack (Hilda), Gerard (Mary), Tom (Bertha), Ray (Norma), and grandchild Connor.

He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, and friends, who he enjoyed spending time with, playing golf and music.

Visitation to be held at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road, Ottawa on Thursday, August 22, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass, August 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Venosta, Quebec. Interment is at St. Martin’s Cemetery, Martindale, Quebec, immediately following the funeral mass.
