Pat was born on August 12, 1935 in Peekskill, NY and was a 1953 graduate of Peekskill High School. After graduation, Pat joined the US Navy and was stationed at Pt. Hueneme, with deployments to both Kwajalein and Guam. During his stay at the base, he met his wife, Charlene Newland. They were married on April 19, 1958.
After being discharged from the Navy, Pat then joined the Oxnard Fire Department. He rose to the rank of Captain before switching roles to become the first Fire Cause Investigator for the City. He trained with the FBI and the National Fire Academy to learn his new craft. He also went through the Police Academy to become a sworn peace officer.
Pat retired after serving almost 34 years with OFD. He then pursued one of his great loves, golf, by working in various roles at River Ridge Golf Club, where he was also the Men’s Club Handicap Chairman for many years. In addition to golf, Pat loved to fish when he had the time and spent his later years carving wooden names, many of which can be found in homes and businesses all over Oxnard and Ventura County.
Pat pursued his love of woodworking – learned during his time spent in the Navy – by building furniture and working on projects for family and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Logue, his mother, Dorothy (Huff) Logue, and his older brother, Robert Logue. Pat is survived by a sister, Suzanne Logue Roberts, a son, Michael Logue, a daughter, Stacy Logue Tanner, and 4 grandchildren – Alexander Logue, Matthew Tanner, Jonathan Tanner and Christopher Tanner.
A graveside service is scheduled for 10AM on Friday, February 12th at Ivy Lawn Cemetery, followed by lunch and a celebration of his life starting at 11:30AM on Friday, February 12th at the Oxnard Elks Club, 801 S. “A” Street, Oxnard.
