A longtime resident of Port Hueneme since 1987, passed away on September 20, 2021.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Andrea and father Viviano Perez. He is survived by his significant other, Frances Medina, Children, Jess, Joanne, Carol, Ricky, Joe, Tina, bonus Children Alice, Richard, Yolanda, Irene, Julian, brother Raymond, granddaughter Tashiana, 51 grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who loved him to pieces.
To all who knew him, He was a man who stood out, he had a great presence about him. Not because of his voice but because of who he was inside and out.
He was the most loving, kind, protective, caring, supportive man, super funny, spunky, sometimes impatient & undoubtedly selfless.
He was always quick to help others in need, and especially took great care of Frances and his family.
He was always on the move, didn’t like staying still much, whether it was driving around town for some shopping, taking the grandkids to the nearby liquor store, picking up some fast food, hanging out at his buddies mechanic shop, going to the auto parts store, or making a little extra cash at the recycling center. He was well liked, respected and had friends everywhere he went.
He enjoyed cooking(made the best pork chops and breakfast potatoes), working on cars, grocery shopping, listening to music, playing the guitar, dancing, singing, reading the newspaper, watching Sunday football and especially loved food.
There wasn’t much that would stop him from pushing forward and living life to the fullest.
He faced and overcame many battles during his life and proved to be a Strong, courageous man with a fighters spirit and a will to live no matter what came his way.
A few medical issues over the years slowed him down but he always bounced back and was quick to go right back to his busy self and back to being France's backbone. Most recently, he was ready to battle cancer once again, in his words, “what do I gotta lose?!”. He had hope. He wasn’t afraid. He wanted to fight and had every intention to keep pushing. His doctors were astonished and admired him for all he had been through in his life. He was a miracle over and over.
He embraced his family dearly, loved spending time together and gave us the purest unconditional love in all aspects of our lives. He was the Heart of our family, His smile, hugs, laugh, presence-Irreplaceable. He will be immensely missed. The best man to have in your corner. Our fighter, our forever Champ and greatest blessing.
Forever in our Hearts and Memories Until we meet again.
