It is with greatest of sadness to say I have lost my Momma, at 102 she lived a long and gracious life. "Ma" as I called her was loving, humble, unjudgemental, but her greatest quality, selflessness. She helped me raise my kids with utmost love, she opened not only her doors, but her arms to all those she met. Her homemaking skills were above and beyond, always bringing food to the table at every holiday, and birthday. She taught me life skills, how to be proud of what I had or didn't have, believe in God, and live by faith. I had her 61 years and am so so proud to have had her this long. I will miss those talks at the table Ma, and will forever be grateful for being the strongest of strong in raising us 4. Go in peace Ma, you are finally in the arms of my Pa. 🕊🙏🏼💔

EULOGY 02/04/22: Que te vaya bien. Perhaps this is what is generally remembered as to what grandma would always say to you when you were leaving the house.In Google, it translates to good luck.The family all had a different meaning:have a safe trip,be careful out there & go in peace.It translated to Grandma sending you off with her love & blessings.She was known for waiting for you at the door until you drove by waived & honked.As a child, grandma would wait outside the front yard & we would waive to each other until i could no longer see her when we reached the end of the street in the car.You see,I believe that my grandma was the foundation of our family. It truly is where it all began.She was a woman of little words.When she spoke though,those words were golden.You could count on her being there for you all the time.Greeting you with a smile & if you were lucky, something from the kitchen.Remember the fresh flour tortillas w/ butter & salt, or Buñuelos at Christmas time?Grandma was always praying.She loved the Virgin Mary, gardening, her birds & Guinea pigs too.She called them her "peep peeps" & her "squeakies".She was a gentle,kind,peaceful,loving,forgiving,humble & loving women.The best grandma ever.Grandma Honey,Grandma Maria,Grandma or MA as we called her.Grandma was golden.She was the foundation that I know gave us all the strength that we each have to venture off in our own lives & adventures.She was proud of all of us.She loved being surrounded by her family.She supported all of us to create the lives that we have today.You know, she's still sharing golden words w/ me today.See this shirt i am wearing?.Ordered online & it has a mantcha on the back of it.What would Grandma say? "Hmmm, the Berumen Luck".A family history of things being broken,not working or a stain on it. But what comes to mind of it all is - Grandma, we are the lucky ones to have been known & loved by you - That is the Berumen Luck! Que te vaya bien,Grandma,Que te vaya bien. Te Amo, TOTO

Where does one even begin to speak when it comes to the glue of the family? Spending every Christmas Eve at your place with all of my family, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins Oh My. You always glowed when you were surrounded with family, even with a full house and overflowing with food being made  in the kitchen you always were smiling and always giving us love.   Then finally I myself became a mother and was able to give you your very first great grandchild Jaymz and then a little later came Jaden, you had even more love to give and pour over my children. Thank you for your constant unconditional love. 
Calling you Grandma 👵🏽 Honey 🍯 is so fitting as I believe what kept us together wasn’t glue but Sweet Loving Honey from your Heart ♥️.  I pray you are resting in peace now and smiling from heaven as you watch over us with all our past loved ones. You will be missed but your legacy will live on from generation to generation.

Dearest Grandmother,

You were always there for me, the rest of the family and loved ones . Your gentleness and kindness never changed and I am extremely grateful for the time spent with you. The memories of the food prepared, the visits to include all the holiday gifts received from  childhood into adulthood.

You spoiled us all with your Love and I will never forget your phone calls on Birthday's to wish us well. Your voice was unique and we all know what I am referencing.

Thank you for setting the example of what a Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Mother should be unconditionally.

When I first came into the family in 1967, I was told she didn't understand English. I don't know how long it was but one day she saw me struggling with my Spanish and gently she said "Frances I understand English, I just don't speak it." From that point on I was comfortable. I never felt judged nor shamed.  After my divorce she still called me her daughter-in-law. A tiny lady with a heart that could never be measured. It was that heart that held a faith beyond words, I will miss our conversations on faith Maria!!!!  Forever your daughter-in-law.... Frances Berumen

Dear Berumen Cousins, Sukie, Freddie and family, George and Manny, Lydia and family with deepest sympathy for the loss of Tia Maria.  I am so grateful that I was able to take my kids to know her and see her from time to time.  The gifts she gave me in the past Christmas’s I will always cherish.  It was always a pleasure to visit and such a surprise that dispite her age she always knew exactly who I was,  she never forgot my child that is Down Syndrome.  She always included her in our conversations, and Tia always had such interesting stories of long ago.  God bless you all,  with comfort during this time.

Dear Freddy, George, Lidia, Suki, and kids. I never met Tio Manuel, since he passed 1 year before I was born.  But I know my dad "Chavolo" loved his brother very much since they were very close. I am glad I grew up to know & love Tia Maria and all of you. Tia Maria was a very sweet lady, with a unique sweet voice. When I would visit or call her, she was alway so happy and cheerful. She would call me "Laurita", and it made me feel so young. She always has good conversation. We would talk about her younger years and how life was so different at the Rancho in Zacatecas. I used to visit the Rancho alot when I was young so I could relate to her stories. I would ask her about our grandfather Domitilo, and I remember she told me he loved her homemade tortillas, and always wanted her to make some. I will miss her interesting conversations very much. I always admired your mother's caring and selfless nature, she was a Crown a Crown of glory.

May you Rest In Peace with your one true love Grandpa Manuel.  Where to begin, let me start by saying that I was so blessed to have had 46 great years with you. So many beautiful memories; the ones that stand out the most are sharing the kitchen with you. I always wanted to play house and learn your recipes. You were always so patient to take the time to teach me. My Sweet Beautiful Grandma thank you for being the best Great Grandma to the Lingey Lingey. Putting up your Christmas tree and having Christmas at your house every year 

I was very lucky to have known this beautiful lady. I was 19 yrs old when I met her. Became her daughter in Law and felt like a daughter to her. Thank you Mom for all the wonderful years we spent together. I love you with all my heart and soul. Till we meet again
