Refugio "Cuca" Monares

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Refugio "Cuca" Monares. She passed away at home on Sunday, July 24, 2016, surrounded by her loving family, after a battle with cancer. She was born on July 4, 1931, to Felipe and Carolina Carrillo. She married Jesus "Chuy" Monares in 1963 and was a resident of Oxnard the last 53 years of her life, coming from El Paso, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents Felipe & Carolina Carrillo, husband Jesus Monares, son Agustin Carrillo, sister Genoveva Carrillo and brothers Pedro, Jose Manuel and Felipe Carrillo II. She is survived by her children, Maria Estela Vance, Pedro Dominguez, Arturo Dominguez, Hilda Lechuga, Jesse Monares, Mario Monares Sr, sisters Eulalia Carrillo and Martha Orozco, brothers Isidro and Felipe Carrillo III, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A special thank you to nurse Julie Nishida, with Livingston Memorial hospice, for her loving care and to all her grandchildren that surrounded her with so much love and care during her last days. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9pm, Wednesday, July 27, 2016, with vigil service starting at 7pm and mass of Christian burial at11am on Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Santa Clara Mortuary, 2370 North H Street, Oxnard, 485-5757.
